Rust (and TL) Never Sleeps: Your Are, Like a Hurricane

What is the deal with this crazy storm?

Since no one seems to know what to do other than stock-up and pray and we're all sitting like ducks on the pond awaiting the rain and 90-mph wind, we are left to post random thoughts that either mention the storm, named Sandy, or post some other lyrical ties to the terrible storm named by the meteorologists and hopefully, to be retired forever.

So, we went from Springsteen's "Sandy" - 4th of July Asbury Park to the Allman Brothers Band and Eric Clapton doing "Stormy Monday." One commentator suggested we post The Doors doing "Riders on the Storm," which I will do when I get around to it after this storm hits NJ/NY/LI/CT and Mass.

Just hope I have some power.

In the meantime? I give you a Crazy Horse.

Check out the clip around 3:40 ...  with Crazy Horse band member, keyboard Frank "Pancho" Sampedro donning the of the Montreal Canadians sweater extraordinaire <Nos bras meurtris vous tendent le flambeau, à vous toujours de le porter bien haut>

Great clip from the 1978 Rust Never Sleeps film, directed by Neil Young.

Monday Morning Maniac Music ...

Beginning today and continuing every Monday that I can get to The Blog @ TerryLyons.com -- I will provide some type of Monday morning maniac music. If the spirit hits me, it might be some mariachi mayhem or some heavy metal motions. Who knows. More often, it will be a clip or an item/note/alert that makes you stop in your tracks and say, "Damn, that was great.!"

PS: The term Monday Morning Manic Music is coined from the Aug. 15-18th, 1969 concert for all concerts, Woodstock," which is soon to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. Can you believe it? (That topic for another time... as the 40th anniversary of the Summer of '69 is upon us. (see Neil Armstrong/First Man on the Moon; Woodstock and The 1969 Miracle Mets).

So, anyway, without further adieu, here is the start of TL's Monday Morning Maniac Musical tip-off:

Neil Young recently did a show in Britain called "Glastonbury 2009." Young has been touring and playing the Beatles' "Day in the Life," as part of the finale and - at this show - he was joined on the stage by Sir Paul McCartney. Here was a recent review... see the clip below from YouTube:

Neil Young ...

Went to see Neil Young at Palace - 175th Street and Broadway. Very strong acoustic set, followed by an hour of electric. First time in my life, I liked the acoustic set more than the power. Here's a memorable clip from year's past--the SNL appearance:
