St. John's will get the #5 slot in the BIG EAST tournament and play winner of the Tuesday #12/13 matchup between Seton Hall and Rutgers on Wednesday at 2pm ET. If successful, the Johnnies would go on to play either Syracuse on Thursday at 2pm. The St. John's losses versus local teams like Seton Hall (12-17) and Fordham (7-21) cost the Johnnies mightily as far as seeding for both the BIG EAST and eventually, the NCAAs.

I don't mind Skype on my computer. In fact, it's great. I do mind Skype being used by so-called bigtime news and sports networks on my High-Def TV. C'mon tech-geeks, spring for it and send the low angle mini-cam over for the two-way, huh?

Mark Cuban is already in negotiations with Charlie Sheen for a new show on Cuban's HDNet. As an astute programming genius, I am sure it will fit right into the 11am ET time-slot between Svetlana and Bikini Destinations. If Cuban is serious and not just grabbing a quick headline in the NY Post, he should cast Charles Barkley and Nate Robinson as co-hosts and title the show "Two and a Half Knuckleheads."

Why do Keith Smart and Ty Corbin both have NBA jobs and Lorenzo Romar remains Pac-tenified at U of Washington? Romar should be on the NBA radar screens everywhere. By the way, I think Utah's Ty Corbin should change his name to Loss Corbin.

Simon & Garfunkel radio on Sirius/XM? Are you serious? May I suggest Jimi Radio - Are you Experienced?

The Boston Bruins had their winning streak capped at eight games with a loss at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night. Pretty impressive run by the B's, right? Well how about the San Jose Sharks who have won eight in a row, 13 of 15 and 17 of their last 21? Bet you didn't know that. The Sharks have hit stride in 2011 after dropping six straight in early January.

Marketing, PR and Ad people just love to celebrate anniversaries. The NBA did a smashing job of NBA @ 50 just a few years after the league celebrated the 35th anniversary of NBA ball. Go figure?
Well, how about this one? April 26th will mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear incident in Ukraine (former USSR). My good friend, Spy, sent along this URL for an interesting read on the scene in sunny Chernobyl 25 years after a nuclear explosion that made the bombing of Hiroshima seem like a bottle-rocket on the 4th of July. Click HERE for the very interesting story.

The Dodgers left Brooklyn for LA and the Nets should leave Brooklyn - before they ever get there - for London. Yes, the New Jersey Nets are undefeated in Britain after taking two from the Toronto Raptors when the NBA played its first two regular season games in Europe this past week. The NBA had previously played regular season games in Japan and Mexico, dating back to 1990.
The Raptors went home empty-handed after playing at the beautiful and aptly named 0-2 Arena in London.
