There's been a lot of talk and criticism regarding this year's NFL Super Bowl national anthem, sung by Christina Aguilera because of her much documented live miscue on the lyrics. The critics often listed their choices for the best anthem rendition of all time. In my opinion, the standard for a live performance of the USA national Anthem was the 1983 rendition by the late
Marvin Gaye at the NBA All-Star Game in LA.

Silver - Nona Gaye at LA with the late Marvin Gaye on the big screen (2004)
Bronze - Everyone else
I vividly remember CBS' emmy award winning director, Sandy Grossman, playing the anthem and the first eight minutes of the game over and over again at a post game party.
