The City of Boston, Mass.

There's been a lot of copy written on the rise of Boston sports. The Red Sox did their jobs and swept the Colorado Rockies in the World Series, following a suspenseful series against the Cleveland Indians. The Patriots are dominating on the NFL turf while the Boston Celtics remain undefeated in the NBA as of this early season scribbling.

I love everything about the city.

This evening, after a full day of meetings and some networking for the future, I took a quick 10-minute stroll through Boston Common and then down Newbury Street, toward the Church of the Covenant. The church was one of the first to locate to the Back Bay section of Boston, circa' 1865-67. The church spire rises some 240-feet over Boston.

The vibe in Boston is a city of diversity, a city that has just the right mix of history, growth, scenery, business and size. Compared to NYC or LA, it has a small town feel. I sense that in Chicago, as well - even though they are large cities by comparison to the small towns and villages of this great land.

Sports plays a huge role in the vibe of the city. Everywhere you look, you see the Red Sox sweatshirts and hats. The Celtics have the town a buzz. For the first time since the '86 season, NBA fans feel Boston has a legitimate shot of the NBA title. The Detroit Pistons probably will be the key obstacle for Boston. And, don't count the Toronto Raptors out at all.

In the east, Miami, NJ, and Cleveland remain longer shots.

Boston has its share of cultural highlights and I sense a rebirth in the Theatre district, as construction sites of new "W" hotels are alongside the Wang Theatre and a new (Courtyard) Marriott on Tremont Street. There are dozens of fine restaurants and eateries, including the likes of Legal Seafood (where the only cigar smoker allowed was the late, great Red Auerbach).

Let me know your Boston favorites?
