The one and only Billy Shears ...

Put August 15, 1965 aside for a minute.

Tonight's Beacon Theatre performance by the Fab Faux will be the second best Beatles concert in New York history.

The Fab will recreate the one and only "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album in its entirety, then switch gears and play what promises to be the best set of their careers with a mixed bag of Beatles hits.

It will be tremendous.

Previewing the concert seems a bit silly, as we all know the lineup and exact order of songs to be played when the band re-creates the album live in their first set.

I enjoy watching the band strive for perfection in recreating the sounds. The challenging song of "Within You Without You" is always one of their favorites, as Will Lee takes the lead.

I will close my eyes and pretend that the band is actually playing live, especially when they finish up Side #1 and "She's Leaving Home" and bring in Rich Pagano and his Lennonesque voice to do "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite."

The crowd's ear-drum crushing applause will be cause for a short break before the Fab Faux goes for Side #2. When they bring it home with "Day in the Life," the Beacon will be as charged up as its ever been.

Tune it for a post concert update on Sunday.
